Objektif Tiyatro Festivali

Objektif Theater Festival, organised by the Objektif cultural centre in Nuremberg from 23 May to 1 June 2025, brings shows, talks and workshops from Turkey to audiences in Germany. Over roughly two months I designed the entire campaign: the key poster and building banner, the brochure, flyer and festival calendar, the social media announcement of every show and talk, and the programme video. Every piece was produced in Turkish and German.

Goal

The festival spoke to two audiences at once: the Turkish community in Germany and German theatregoers. There were seventeen events in ten days, with tickets sold online. My goal was a campaign that reads equally clearly in both languages, is recognisable at a glance from the building banner on the street to a post on a phone, and sends people to the ticket page.

02

Key poster and visual language

The festival’s theme was “Buluşmak / Sich begegnen” (meeting each other). The organisers chose the mask image on the key poster; I built the poster’s composition and typography, and the festival’s whole visual system, around it. I chose a warm palette of orange and petrol blue, set a tall, dense “TİYATRO” headline over the Nuremberg skyline and separated the lower part of the poster with a torn-paper wave. That wave became a signature repeated in every output, from the show covers to the calendar.

03

Print

For the venue and the city I prepared large-format prints at real size: a 4×6 m building banner, 85×200 cm roll-ups, A2 and 50×70 cm posters, a 150×200 cm festival calendar, 3×2.2 m and 2.5×1.25 m backdrops for the events in Nuremberg, and a 598×58 cm venue sign. The brochure and flyer gather the programme, guests and supporters in both languages in one layout, and child-friendly shows are flagged with their own mark in the calendar.

04

Shows, talks and the announcement system

For each show I designed a two-slide carousel: the first slide is the show’s cover, the second its credits and a bilingual synopsis. The photos came from different theatre companies, with very different light and quality; I turned them all black-and-white and brought them into one family with the orange wave and a fixed information area. The talks, panels and workshops, the festival’s honorary presidents, the programme cards and the supporter thank-yous grew from the same template, so a new announcement could be ready in minutes.

05

The final two weeks

The campaign ran for about two months. The last two weeks brought a stream of changes; with each one I updated the whole system, from the posters and calendar to the brochure and individual posts, which meant hundreds of materials and revisions. Once the programme was final, I edited the programme video that tells the festival’s flow in a single vertical film.
